Political Outlook

I met with a group last week and was almost immediately asked, before I even sat down, for my political stance. I told them I was not a salesman, and I am not a politician. I am a law enforcement officer. I told them that I aligned with what is right, what is biblically correct.
The only class or training remotely close to politics I have ever received was in high school when I was mandated to take a civics class, which covered a little bit of politics. That is one class, in one semester my 10th grade year of high school compared to the over 2,600 hours of law enforcement and leadership (not politics) specific training I have received during my career. To put that into context, there are approximately 2,080 hours in a work year, assuming you work an 8-5 job. In addition to my over 2,600 hours of documented training, I also earned during that same time a bachelor's degree in criminal justice and criminology and graduated Magna Cum Laude from the University of Mount Olive. All while working a full-time, unpredictable law enforcement career in special operations.
With me, what you see is what you get. I will never pretend to be someone that I am not. A Sheriff, a Chief, a police officer, a deputy or anyone who wears a badge in the public safety profession serves everyone. We serve all races, religions, nationalities, beliefs, and political parties with professionalism and dignity, without bias, prejudice or pre-conceived notions or opinions.
When deputies arrive at your house, they don’t ask what party you voted for or how you’re registered. We ask you what your emergency is, or how we can help you
